Where is the system installed and how much space does it need?

Edited

Short Answer

Both Flow 2 and the Softener are installed at the main water entry point of your property, typically in a pump room or service area. They are whole-property systems and are not installed under sinks or inside bathrooms.

Where Flow 2 Is Installed

Flow 2 connects directly to the main incoming water line before water is distributed throughout the property.

It is usually installed in:

  • Pump rooms

  • Utility or service areas

  • External covered service spaces

  • Basement plant rooms

Flow 2 requires:

  • Space of approximately 700 × 400 × 1100 mm

  • Access to a drain outlet (for automated flushing)

  • Standard power supply (100–220 V)

  • 60–80 cm clearance in front for servicing

Flow 2 does not require a separate storage tank and operates as a direct-flow system.

Where the Softener Is Installed

The Softener Series (Model 2, 3, or 4) is also installed at the main water entry point.

It is typically placed:

  • Before heaters and appliances

  • In pump or service rooms

  • In covered external utility areas

Space requirements vary by model size, but all units require:

  • Main water line connection

  • Drain outlet (for regeneration discharge)

  • Power outlet

  • Access for salt refilling

Unlike Flow 2, the softener requires periodic salt refilling and therefore must remain accessible.

Can It Be Installed Outside?

Yes, provided the location is:

  • Covered and protected from direct rain

  • Within operating temperature range (5°C–38°C)

  • Protected from flooding

Your installer can advise on suitable placement.

How Much Space Should I Plan For?

For most villas:

  • A standard pump room is sufficient

  • No additional structural room is required

  • Units should not be placed in living spaces

If you are building a new property, allocating a dedicated service area simplifies installation and future maintenance.

What If My Pump Room Is Small?

In tighter installations:

  • We can assess photos remotely

  • Model selection may depend on available space

  • Plumbing adjustments may be required

Send us:

  • A clear photo of the pump room

  • Approximate measurements

  • Number of bathrooms and estimated usage

We will confirm suitability before installation.

Important Placement Considerations

Do not install:

  • Inside bedrooms or living areas

  • In unventilated enclosed cabinets

  • In areas without drain access

  • In locations exposed to direct sun or flooding

Proper placement ensures long-term reliability and easy servicing.
