Water Softener Series (2000 / 3000 / 4000) – Product Overview

Edited

Short Overview

The DriinkMe Water Softener Series is a whole-property ion-exchange softening system designed to reduce hardness caused by dissolved calcium and magnesium.
Installed at the point of entry, it protects plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances from scale formation.
The 2000, 3000, and 4000 models differ primarily in rated flow capacity.

What the System Is

The Water Softener Series is a point-of-entry hardness reduction system installed on the main incoming water line.

It is designed for:

  • Residential villas and homes

  • Hospitality properties

  • Commercial buildings

  • Properties experiencing limescale formation

The system uses resin-based ion exchange technology to exchange calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) ions for sodium ions, thereby reducing scale-forming hardness before water distribution.

How Ion Exchange Works (Engineering Clarification)

Hard water contains dissolved calcium and magnesium ions.

Inside the softener:

  • Water passes through a resin bed

  • Calcium and magnesium ions attach to the resin

  • Sodium ions are released into the water

  • Hardness is reduced

Once resin capacity is reached, the system performs an automatic regeneration cycle using brine solution to restore exchange capacity.

Model Differences

All models operate on the same ion-exchange principle.
The difference is hydraulic capacity:

  • Model 2000 – Rated flow up to 2.0 m³/h

  • Model 3000 – Rated flow up to 3.0 m³/h

  • Model 4000 – Rated flow up to 4.0 m³/h

Model selection depends on:

  • Peak simultaneous water demand

  • Number of bathrooms

  • Property size

  • Commercial occupancy

  • Incoming hardness level

For hospitality or high-occupancy properties, hydraulic demand assessment is recommended.

What the System Does

The softener is designed to:

  • Reduce calcium and magnesium hardness

  • Minimise scale formation in pipes and heating elements

  • Protect fittings and valves

  • Improve efficiency of water heaters

  • Improve soap and detergent performance

  • Reduce spotting on glass and fixtures

The system does not remove dissolved salts (TDS) — it exchanges hardness ions.

Regeneration & Operation

The system operates automatically and includes:

  • Programmable regeneration cycles

  • Brine tank for resin regeneration

  • Volume-based or time-based regeneration (model dependent)

Regeneration frequency depends on:

  • Incoming hardness

  • Water consumption

  • System capacity

Smart home app connection.

Proper drainage connection is required for regeneration discharge.

Core Operating Parameters (Developer-Safe)

  • Working pressure: 0.15–0.8 MPa (1.5–8 bar)

  • Operating temperature: 5°C–45°C

  • Power supply: 100–240V, 50/60Hz

  • Resin-based ion exchange process

  • Automatic regeneration cycle

Installation must comply with local plumbing, drainage, and electrical regulations.

Integration with Flow 2

For optimal whole-property protection:

Softener → installed upstream
Flow 2 → installed downstream

This configuration:

  • Reduces scaling risk within Flow 2

  • Improves membrane longevity

  • Provides combined hardness + microbial control

System pairing depends on water chemistry and hydraulic layout.

Important Clarification

  • DriinkMe provides Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping globally.

  • Installation must be performed by a qualified local plumber.

  • The system must not be disassembled or modified by the user.

  • Commercial system sizing requires hydraulic demand calculation.
