Flow 2 Ultra-Filtration System
Short Overview
Flow 2 is a whole-property, point-of-entry multi-stage water purification system designed primarily for treated municipal tap water and frequently suitable for stable deep well sources.
Installed at the main incoming water line, it improves water quality before distribution by combining mechanical filtration, ultra-filtration membrane technology, activated carbon adsorption, and UV sterilisation in one integrated unit.
What Flow 2 Is
Flow 2 is a high-capacity water purification system designed for:
Residential villas and homes
Hospitality properties
Commercial buildings
Properties supplied by municipal tap water
Suitable deep well applications (subject to water quality assessment)
The system treats water before it is distributed throughout the property.
Treatment Stages
Flow 2 combines four integrated stages.
Stage 1 – Pre-Filtration (40 μm stainless steel filter)
Removes sand, rust, and coarse particles.
Stage 2 – Ultra-Filtration (0.01 μm hollow fiber membrane)
Removes bacteria, protozoa, fine suspended solids, microplastics (>0.01 μm), and oxidised particulate iron and manganese while retaining natural minerals.
Stage 3 – Activated Carbon (5 μm cartridge)
Reduces chlorine, taste and odour, and certain organic compounds.
Stage 4 – UV-LED Sterilisation
Provides a final ultraviolet disinfection barrier designed to inactivate microorganisms before water is distributed throughout the property.
What Flow 2 Does
Flow 2 is engineered to:
Reduce suspended particles and sediment
Remove bacteria and protozoa
Reduce chlorine and related taste/odour
Reduce certain organic compounds
Inactivate microorganisms via UV treatment
Deliver up to 4,000 L/h for whole-property supply
Protect plumbing systems, showers, and appliances from particle load
Maintain natural mineral content (non-RO system)
The system operates fully automatically once installed and powered, including integrated flushing cycles to maintain membrane performance.
Designed Water Source
Flow 2 is primarily engineered for treated municipal tap water.
It may also be suitable for deep well (borehole) water where turbidity and dissolved contaminants are within acceptable limits.
If water originates from:
Shallow wells
Surface water
Non-disinfected sources
Secondary storage systems
Additional pre-treatment may be required depending on water quality.
A basic water analysis is recommended prior to installation.
Core Operating Parameters (Customer-Safe)
Filtration accuracy: 0.01 μm (UF membrane)
Rated flow: up to 4 m³/h (4,000 L/h)
Minimum operating pressure: 0.8 bar
Operating pressure range: 1–4 bar (0.1–0.4 MPa)
Inlet temperature range: 5°C–38°C
Inlet / outlet: 1”
Power supply: 100–240V, 50/60 Hz
Power consumption: approx. 70–72 W
Installation must comply with local plumbing and electrical regulations.
Service & Lifespan (Typical Values)
Pre-filter: Cleanable / backwashable
UF membrane: Service life depends on water quality and usage volume
Activated carbon cartridge: Up to 600,000 litres or approximately 12 months (depending on chlorine load)
UV module: Long-life LED system (no annual bulb replacement required)
Actual lifespan depends on water quality and system loading.
Automated Hydraulic Maintenance Cycles
1️⃣ Stage 1 – Pre-Filter Automatic Backwash
Component: 40 μm stainless steel sediment filter
Default configuration:
Backwash interval: every 10 days
Backwash time: 02:05 (factory setting)
Duration: approx. 15 seconds
Function:
The valve opens briefly to discharge accumulated sediment and coarse particles.
Adjustability:
Backwash interval, time, and duration can be configured to suit site conditions and water quality.
Purpose:
To maintain flow stability and reduce loading on the UF membrane.
2️⃣ Stage 2 – Ultra-Filtration (UF) Membrane Flush
Component: 0.01 μm hollow fiber UF membrane
Default configuration:
Flush interval: every 24 hours
Flush time: 02:00 (factory setting)
Short-duration hydraulic rinse cycle (5 seconds)
Function:
A programmed flush reduces surface fouling and particle accumulation on the membrane.
Adjustability:
Flush timing and frequency are configurable based on water quality and operational requirements.
Purpose:
To maintain membrane permeability and long-term hydraulic performance.
3️⃣ Holiday / Low-Usage Protection Mode
Trigger condition:
No water flow detected for approximately 72 hours.
Default configuration:
Automatic valve opening
Duration: approx. 15 seconds
Function:
Introduces fresh inlet water into the system to promote internal water exchange.
Adjustability:
Activation interval and flush duration are configurable.
Purpose:
To reduce prolonged water stagnation within the unit during periods of inactivity.
Note:
This feature supports internal hydraulic movement and does not replace routine maintenance or water quality management.
Optional Integration
Flow 2 can be combined with:
Water softeners (for hardness and low-level iron/manganese control)
Depending on water chemistry, additional treatment systems may be recommended.
Important Clarifications
DriinkMe provides Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping globally.
DriinkMe does not provide global installation services.
Installation must be completed by a qualified local plumber.
The system should not be disassembled, modified, or repaired by the user.
For technical planning or suitability assessment, consultation is recommended.
